Nothingness
Beloveds,
Every once in a while I am curious about articles that I come across about the universe. It is mind boggling how we can send a space craft “back in time” to get a glimpse of what the universe looked like 13.7 billion years ago. I recently came across an article asking the question “Is there such a thing as nothingness?” Apparently, according to this research, nothingness is really something! Scientists call it quantum foam. When I read this article it made me think about those particles I see floating around as they are illuminated by sunshine as it comes through a window. They are basically invisible otherwise and we live as though they don’t exist. We breathe these in with every breath and somehow (for the most part) they do not harm us. I don’t have a mind trained in quantum theory but I am an enneagram 5 which gives me license to wonder. Ha!
It’s not a surprise to me that nothingness doesn’t exist. If you have ever tried mindfulness that alone will surely will convince you. In your quest to empty your mind there seems to be an endless stream of pop up thoughts. Nothingness seems quite illusive! And, as I understand it (correct me if I am wrong), the Divine One is at the very core of emptying. It’s the way we connect beyond words or even our own knowing. So, if God is at the core of beyond our knowing, in the core of us, then nothingness would be impossible to exist. The Divine One is ever present.
I have often wondered how it is that the Divine One comes to us - where is the opening? And maybe, just maybe, quantum theory has an answer… I wonder if maybe God is in these very sub-atomic particles that bubble in and out of us, invisible yet ever present. Why not? Maybe this is how the presence of God is made known to us at any given time? Could this explain how the Divine is present in all things? And, maybe how all things connect together in this world? Wow, this is a little heavy lifting for a Friday, I know!
Quantum theory might not be your thing or mine but it’s fun to ponder and wonder. I invite you to consider your thoughts about nothingness or quantum foam or how you view the way God connects to us and all that is. Always open to your thoughts!
Blessings

Nothingness of Mind
I dare you
To sit or stand
To draw or write
To paint or wrong
To not be so **** polite
To force or feel
To be without phone
To stand in rain
To not be so alone
I dare you again
I dare you alive
I dare you once more
To stop thinking about it
I dare you to try
